21_02_2008   TOREX EXTENDS SOLUTIONS PORTFOLIO FOR GERMAN MARKET

Regional Portfolio Expanded to Include Solutions for Point of Service, Supply Chain Management, Human Capital Management and Business Analysis

Berlin, Germany - 21 February 2008 - Torex Retail Holdings Limited (Torex™), the leading European-based global provider of software and solutions to the extended retail marketplace, today announced that it will introduce proven solutions in the areas of point of service (POS), supply chain management, human capital management and business analysis into the German market for the first time. These new solutions complement established solutions in the German market including Torex LUCAS-POS, Torex OSCAR-POS and Torex WFM-HCM.

German customers will be able to get a first look at these products at EuroShop 2008, 23rd – 27th February in Dusseldorf at the Torex Booth (Hall 6, A79).

The new solutions to be introduced in Germany include:

  • Torex™ Retail-J-POS, an integrated, network-centric suite of POS, store and central management applications designed to meet the needs of retailers that have chains of more than 100 stores. In Europe, retailers such as Harrods and French Connection are currently using Torex Retail-J-POS to build a strong foundation for their business, while providing significantly reduced total cost of ownership and increased efficiency.
     
  • Torex DRS-POS™ is a fully integrated solution providing end-to-end functionality for POS, purchase, inventory, management, pricing, merchandising and planning, multimedia content, sales and profit analysis and stock control for mid-tier retailers and companies in the retail, leisure, food and beverage sectors. Torex DRS-POS is based on a 4 tier technical architecture that is highly scalable and based around a central database so everyone across the enterprise sees the same data. This solution operates in multi-language, multi-currency and multi-tax environments, and counts Caffè Nero and Condor Ferries as current customers.
     
  • Torex™ Compass-SCM, a merchandising and assortment planning solution that delivers greater efficiency, higher profitability and lower levels of logistics costs and markdowns. This solution allows retailers to tailor their assortment and merchandising down to the size level to meet the needs of individual stores using customer demographic, climatic and branch profile data, whilst allowing a single point of control for multi-branch retailers. Current customers include Cortefiel, Dots, Marks & Spencer, Maxx and Sonae.
     
  • Torex™ WMS-SCM, a warehouse management solution for distribution centres, warehouses and store inventories, allowing retailers to meet the evolving needs of their supply chain in a simple and efficient way. Torex WMS-SCM is a true multi-channel solution allowing orders and automated picking to be driven from a single Internet order. Torex WMS-SCM offers retailers a highly configurable, multi-warehouse solution for creating agile workflows, flexible order processes and features strong batch and expiry date traceability for the food, pharmacy and other specialised environments. Torex WMS-SCM can also provide an entire estate management system for a single view of stock levels across all the company’s stores and warehouses.   • Torex™ BA, a business intelligence and data warehousing solution delivering critical management information to a retailer’s management team to support better decision making and strategic business planning. Developed specifically to meet the needs of the retail sector, Torex BA enables retailers to identify and address a wide range of issues before they impact on company performance, such as identification of shrinkage and performance at the individual product and store level. The solution is completely open and can integrate with any POS. Torex BA is the successor of Galaxy, which has been very effective in providing companies like TJ Hughes and JJB Sports with critical information to improve business operations.
