Press Release
21_04_2008 POS SOLUTION FOR THE WORLD'S LARGEST CHOCOLATE RESTAURANT
New High-tech meets gourmet:
In future, Fassbender & Rausch will be billing customers with the Torex OSCAR-POS till system
Berlin, Germany– 21 April 2008 - Torex, the leading supplier of system solutions for the retail and gastronomy sectors, has equipped Fassbender & Rausch Chocolatiers with its till and branch management solution OSCAR-POS. In future, both the chocolate restaurant and the confiserie will be billing customers using modern touch-screen tills.
‘We are very proud to be able to implement our solution at a traditional company such as Fassbender & Rausch,’ explains Graeme Cooksley, CEO of Torex. ‘The OSCAR-POS till solution is designed for centralised administration that saves time and resources.’
The chocolate house Fassbender & Rausch Chocolatiers is one of the most popular meeting places among chocolate connoisseurs. In addition to a sweet counter and a chocolate department, the company, which was founded in 1863, also offers a café and a chocolate restaurant.
The core of the new overall solution is the till and branch management software OSCAR-POS that offers sophisticated functionality for point-of-service (POS) administration and management for FMCG retail, specialist retail and gastronomy. Torex OSCAR-POS facilitates an efficient management of the transactions along the entire value creation chain and guarantees, with its integrated branch goods management, exact sales and storage management. The solution also offers retail the monitoring and control of its business operations in real-time.
Only till systems with touch-screen were installed at Fassbender & Rausch. 15-inch displays designed for table waiting have been implemented in the restaurant; in the sweet shop, 12-inch display tills designed for serving are in operation.
Together, they can thus control all till processes in the company centrally. Overall billing and till management have thus been considerably improved.
Jürgen Rausch, the CEO of Fassbender & Rausch, is enthusiastic about the Torex solution: ‘In the past, we never had an overview of the issuing of receipts and cash collection processes that came close to the one we have now. Particularly in today’s modern time, we need to be able to act quickly and individually in the area of customer contact. With regard to the two till areas restaurant and confiserie, we can now act quickly and efficiently - without this having a negative impact on our atmosphere in any way.’
Fassbender & Rausch
Heinrich Fassbender was producing the finest chocolates and truffles in Berlin as early as 1863, at Mohrenstraße 10, in the direct vicinity of the Gendarmenmarkt. His unusual creations ensured he became a purveyor to the royal court. A few years later, in 1890, Wilhelm Rausch opened up his first confiserie to manufacture the finest chocolates, truffles and pralines according to the highest standards of quality. In 1999, the talents of the two families were combined. The chocolate house Fassbender & Rausch Chocolatiers was formed on the Gendarmenmarkt. Today, Jürgen Rausch is the fourth generation of his family to run the company – like his predecessors, he is solely committed to the goal of treating chocolate connoisseurs around the world to exquisite recipes and qualities.
