Whether the stock item is identified at the warehouse and delivered to store or reserved from shop stock, the integrity of the order is critical to customer satisfaction and long term loyalty.

Once picked items have been checked against the order, correctly labelled and sent to store if not already there, they need to be segregated from shop stock and the customer informed that they are ready for collection.

The customer must be correctly identified and allowed to check the order. Is it accurate and complete as expected?

Should you request payment in advance? If payment has been made and the merchandise rejected upon collection how will you process the refund? What then happens to the stock?

And what process do you follow if the customer never turns up to collect the order?
